On Black America: Sandra Bland

I find it hard to believe that a woman would be thrown in jail after being stopped by police for not using her signal to change lanes on a small residential street but that is what happened to Sandra Bland. Now she is dead from asphyxiation, from the most minor traffic stop. Of course, the police say she resisted arrest and mouthed off to cop.

Too many instances of dehumanization of people of color by police officers. The contrast is pretty damn clear with all the video footage showing the world how officers view African American citizens. My soul weeps. Sigh…My soul weeps.

It’s hard for me to type this because of the tears that well up in my eyes because of the very clear ¬†harassment that we, people of color suffer at the hands of police. It’s hard to stay positive in this America.
